Contribute
All the ideas, photos, and resources published at Therapy Ideas are contributed by Speech and Language Therapists (SLTs) who want to share their work with others, in the spirit of collaboration.
Everything is published under a Creative Commons licence—which means that other people are free to use the work for non-commercial purposes, as long as they credit the author.
Add ideas
As an SLT, you’re always trying out new ideas for therapy.
Share your success—use Therapy Ideas to write up your idea and publish it, so that
other SLTs can use it too. You’ll get credit for your idea, comments and suggestions from your peers,
and a warm feeling inside.
It’s easy to add an idea: choose your targets, come up with a title, write up the method and then hit “submit”. Our editorial team will check it over, get the classification right, and publish your idea.
Add photos & illustrations
Many of our ideas use photos or illustrations, so we thought we’d create an image library.
If you take photos or draw illustrations for therapy, why not upload them to
Therapy Ideas and share them with other SLTs?
You can upload straight from your digital camera files, or from a scanner. The images are automatically resized by us, so you don’t need to worry about zooming or dimensions. And you can create image grids for printing, straight from your web browser.
Add resources
A resource is a printable sheet that SLTs use to support an idea.
Resources can be image grids, lists of activities,
prompt sheets, handouts, decorations for a parent’s fridge…
the possibilities are endless. Any SLT can add a resource to an idea—not just the original contributor.
Say you’ve found a great idea, but you need a particular set of images for your client. You can create an image grid by searching the image library, choosing your images, and saving the result as a resource. Ta-da! (A similar process applies to text-based resources, like prompt sheets.) You can print resources straight away using your web browser, and you’ll be credited once they’re published.
Find inspiration
Therapy Ideas is a place where Speech and Language Therapists (SLTs) go to find inspiration from others.
Find new ideas
Ever find yourself at a loss for new ideas? Maybe you’re having trouble
coming up with something just right for a client, or you need
to try something new. Can’t use that game again!
Finding some new ideas—contributed by other SLTs—could be enough to get you back on track.
Search by target
All of our ideas are classified by target. This is great for browsing through similar ideas,
and it also allows you to search for ideas directly by target. So if you have a specific
client in mind, you can get straight to the ideas that might be able to help.
Take part
If you’ve tried out an idea that you found on Therapy Ideas, why not tell other Speech and Language Therapists (SLTs) how it went?
Make comments & suggestions
It’s easy to add a comment to an idea. You can share your
experiences, ask questions, or make
suggestions for variations and improvements.
It’s a great way to collaborate with
other SLTs.
Add ideas…
Which takes us right back to the beginning—contributing to Therapy Ideas.
We hope you’ll
be inspired to add you own ideas, photos, illustrations, and resources…
