Directions

Choose a selection of verb pictures. Lay out 6 - 8 verb pictures at a time, in front of the children.

While the children close their eyes or turn around, hide a coin under one of the pictures.

Each child takes a turn trying to find the coin. They must describe what is happening in the picture, before they can look underneath it for the coin.

Begin by demonstrating how to describe a picture, this can be done at various levels, for example: “drinking,” “girl drinking,” “girl drinking juice” or “the girl is drinking the orange juice.”

When the coin has been found, lay out a different set of pictures and ask ‘the winner’ to hide the coin.
